The Clearwater Police Department trains to survive. Post academy recruits train for seven weeks to build skills in pursuit driving, tactical firearms, active shooter, defensive tactics, high-risk traffic stops and more.

Training is a priority for the agency. CPD offers elective as well as required training for CPD officers throughout their careers so officers can keep their skills sharp - training never stops at CPD.
