Anthony Holloway joined the Clearwater Police Department in 1985. During his career with the Clearwater Police Department, he served as a Patrol Officer, a Community Policing Specialist, an undercover Vice & Narcotics Detective, a Patrol Sergeant, an Economic Crimes Sergeant, the Support Services Assistant Division Commander, and the Patrol Division Commander.

Chief Holloway received numerous awards throughout his tenure including the Clearwater Bar Association Allen L. Moore Memorial Gold Badge, Joseph F. Cornelius Family Foundation Outstanding Police Officer of the Yea (the highest honor given by the Clearwater Police Department), Fraternal Order of Police Officer of the Year, Chief’s Unit Citation, and numerous letters of commendation.

Chief Holloway retired from the Clearwater Police Department in November 2007 and was appointed Chief of Police in Somerville, Massachusetts. Chief Holloway was reunited with the Clearwater Police Department in February 2010 when he was appointed Chief of Police after he was chosen over 200 other candidates for the position.

Chief Holloway continues to make the Clearwater Police Department a more efficient, professional, and responsive law enforcement agency through intelligence-led policing, innovation, and community partnerships.

Chief Holloway has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Master’s in Business Administration. Chief Holloway is a native of Tampa, Florida.
